With crystal clear waters and sandy beaches it isn’t hard to tell why it’s named Clearwater. There’s more to do than just swim though! I’ve compiled a list of my favorite things to do in Clearwater, Florida.
Things to do in Clearwater Florida
2. Winter’s Dolphin Tale Adventure– Experience the Dolphin Tale movie as you explore re-built scenes, movie images and a variety of the props used in the filming. When you visit Clearwater Marine Aquarium you receive free admission to Winter’s Dolphin Tale Adventure. They even provide free transportation across the city via bus or boat. Ride the boat. If you’re lucky you might even spot a dolphin along the way.
3. Hit the Beach- Clearwater is known for its pearly white, sugar sand, award-winning beaches including St. Pete Beach, Clearwater Beach, Caladesi Island State Park and Fort De Soto Park. Caladesi Island and Clearwater Beach are my personal favorites. You’ll need to ride the ferry to get to Caladesi Island. If you hike the trails on the island make sure you wear closed-toe shoes. Rattlesnakes are native to the island.
4. Dali Museum– Named one of the world’s top “Places to Go” by the New York Times this museum showcases the works of artist Salvador Dali’s entire career (1904-1989). It includes 96 oil paintings, many original drawings, bookworks, prints, sculpture, photos, manuscripts and an extensive archive of documents.
5. Largo Mall- Clearwater & St. Pete are a shopper’s paradise. Just south of Clearwater the Largo Mall holds some of the nation’s most popular stores with an outstanding selection of eateries, specialty shops and Regal Largo Mall 8 Cinemas. The beach also features some cool surf shops including Surf Style Mega Store and Ron Jon Surf Shop.
