Even though the official start date of fall 2017 is Friday, September 22 we are already preparing for fall here in Michigan. It usually gets chilly this time of the year and everyone starts to break out their hoodies and start to think pumpkin spice everything.
If you’re one of those people who are crazy for pumpkin spice you’ll love this homemade DIY Vanilla Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub. It’s super easy to make and will leave your skin feeling so soft and smooth. Sugar is a natural sweetener that gently exfoliates the skin but doesn’t leave harmful residue that can clog your pores.
You can even use it on your hands to soften and exfoliate. Cold weather always leaves my hands dry and cracked and this helps to bring them back to life again.
- 1 Cup White Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Grape Seed Oil
- 1 Tablespoon Pumpkin Spice Extract
- 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
- (Optional) 1 Teaspoon Vitamin E Oil
Dump dry ingredients (sugars) in a bowl and mix together. Add the wet ingredients (oil, extracts, and vitamin E oil) to the mix and blend. Store in a jar or closed container.
Note: Adding Vitamin E Oil is totally optional. If you have this ingredient readily available, however, it does help to moisturize and nourish the skin and has awesome antioxidant properties. When added to oils it can help to prolong the shelf life of homemade beauty products by acting like a preservative.
